Statement and Declaration of Peter

 For the benefit of those who struggle with unwanted feelings of same-sex attraction (SSA) I hereby make the following statement and declaration, in the hope that others will benefit from my own experiences in overcoming these feelings. I wish to share with you an entry made in m own personal journal today, June 13^th, 2001. As a struggler myself, I am amazed that I have even felt this way. The following entry was made in my journal, and it reads as follows:

I poignantly testify that nothing can compensate for the loss or breakdown of the family unit. We live in a time when the family unit has been eroded through immorality and the deception of the adversary.

My journey out of homosexuality has become somewhat exciting. As one who has waded in deep waters, my sights are now becoming set on the idea of becoming a father, husband and whole person.

I rebuke the ideology of activists within the gay rights movement who seek to deceive the children of God by coaxing them to believe that there is no hope for personal change. How dare they tell me that I was born this way, to declare my fate in this manner, as though they know our God and me better than I do! How dare those who are actively engaged in homosexual practices, or the gay rights movement, tell me, a beautiful child of God, that I have no choice when faced with this developed condition! Who do they think they are, trying to convince me that I can’t overcome this problem?

I am a child of God! So who are these activists, in comparison to our Father in Heaven?

How dare gay activists tell me that I cannot have a family, or that falling in love with a woman is impossible for me! These activists serve the adversary, and unfortunately do it rather well. They seek to convince those who embrace homosexual behavior (along with those who do not) that it is a perfectly normal alternative lifestyle. This is in direct contrast to the purpose of life, plan of salvation and anything connected to the natural Laws of God.

In closing, I testify that we are divine and beautiful beings. We are children of an all-wise, mighty Heavenly Father, and the Savior of all mankind is Jesus Christ. If we will put our faith and trust in them, we can overcome all the pulls and tugs of the world. This includes the temptations that surround homosexual behavior. I have been able to do this, don’t ask me how, but I have! Our Father in Heaven is on our side, and always supports every endeavor that we make to be clean before Him. May He bless you efforts to become clean before Him.
