Area Representatives
The Area Representative is a volunteer position with Evergreen under the
direction of the Executive Director. An Area Representative is a point person
responsible for a geographical area. Although not a spokesperson for Evergreen,
the Area Representative acts as the eyes and ears of Evergreen and keeps the
Executive Director informed of issues and events in the area that may be of
interest to Evergreen. The Area Representative has copies of Evergreen
publications and receives training so he or she can act for Evergreen when
directed by the Executive Director.
Some Area Representatives will be people of influence within their communities;
others will be interested people who are willing to perform coordination roles
such as the following:
- Provide information on Evergreen programs and services to local Church
leaders or members as requested.
- Provide information about Evergreen to local media.
- Encourage referrals to Evergreen programs.
- Encourage training meetings of Church leaders, members, or therapists.
- Be aware of local events, public school programs, or legislative
initiatives where education is needed or where Evergreen may be able to help.
- Meet with legislative leaders or school administrators to provide correct
information about same-sex attraction.
- Participate in public education programs, such as placing books in local
libraries.
- Help plan local conferences.
